Hope For Hurting Parents is a local support group for parents with children of all ages who struggle with substance abuse and addiction; computer, internet and gaming addiction; behavioral and conduct disorders; self-esteem issues and identity crisis; failure to thrive at home or school. Children manifest their struggles in ways parents often do not recognize and parents are often left believing they have somehow caused the problem.

Does it sound familiar that: your teen or adult child are on their phone texting all hours of the day and night; are they obsessed with keeping their streaks going on Instagram? Are they being bullied or afraid to go to school because they have been victimized or traumatized in other ways? Are their values mis-placed? Did they return home from college only to live in your basement?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, this group is for you.

Hope For Hurting Parents meets at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church, 69 North Main Street, Alpharetta, GA 30009 at 7:00PM in room T351. Meetings are on alternate Thursday evenings as follows:

Break for the summer

Our objective is for Hurting Parents to know there is hope for their child as well as for themselves. Parents often get caught up in their children’s problems and forget they need to stay strong, continue to live their lives and thrive.

Community professionals; parents; and struggling teens and adults will share their stories and help you find answers and direction. Information regarding meeting reminders and announcing the speaker for each meeting will be published on a regular basis. If you would like to be on the email list contact Holly@hunterproad.com.

It is a journey that we are on; and it is helpful to know we do not journey alone.
